| As our site search is powered by Google, it
uses the same simple rules for searching as the Google search
engine.
To enter a query into Google, just type in a few descriptive words and
hit the 'enter' key (or click on the Google Search button) for a list of
relevant web pages. Our site search allows you to search exclusively
within our domain, or you may search the entire World Wide Web.

| Below are some search tips adapted
from The Age Green Guide, Thursday, August 22, 2002: |
- Be as specific as possible with keywords.
- Use an advanced search to be even more specific in your searches.
- Consider using quote marks and the plus sign for search terms that should
not be separated. For example "opera house" should be
searched for as opera+house, not opera house.
- Change your keywords around if you are not getting results. For
example, reverse the word order, or add a country, a city, or a company
name.
- Try more than one search engine. Just because you cannot find what
you want in the first 10 to 20 sites from your favourite search engine
does not mean the information does not exist.
- Use Google
first for non-specialist information.
- Use Copernic if you need to
perform regular searches or wish to keep a record of your hits.
- Use Vivisimo for a small,
categorised list of useful hits.
- Use MSN if you are searching
for information related to the media, entertainment, or school project
work.
- Try Wisenut, a search engine
tipped to be Google's successor.
